God Analog "Here's To Eternity"

September 14, 2018

It's been a while since I've had my punk fix and I'm truly digging this new single from the mysterious, but nice, San Jose trio God Analog "Here's to Eternity." Awesome name, BTW.

If the rest of the album is anything like "Here's To Eternity," I'm in. This particular track really embeds into your brain stem. I found myself humming it as I went to sleep last night and then as I walked to work this morning. "I feel it in my skin, that we need to end a trend..." Wait a minute. Am I being recruited into some shadowy international cell?

Whatever. I'm down. God Analog seems pretty dope as overlords.

"Here's To Eternity" is a driving, thrashing, run of a song, with the edge of 80s pop rock but on the darker side. Light enough to hum but with a serious underbelly. Not like "Hail Satan" or anything but shaded enough to have a lovely echoey grit.

Founder Adam Days is quite astute at crafting lyrics and knows just how to wind up a tune before letting it loose like a really popular cannon ball. And let it loose he and his crew do. Hail, God Analog!

Singalong, everybody:

"I feel it in my skin

That we need to end the trend

I really didn't know back then

I'm dying for something -

A TV screen and the new American Dream

I feel it in my skin

My patience is running thin

I really didn't know back then

And I find we're all waiting for a brand new play

It doesn't matter anyway

Hey, hey, Here's to Eternity

And we're all dressed up for infinity, dancing nowhere

It's the same thing every day, we won't just chase monotony, so we say:

Hey, hey, Here's to Eternity

Hey, hey, Here's to Eternity

And we all set sail on a pitiful trip to nowhere

It's the same thing every day, we won't just chase monotony, so we say:

Hey, hey, Here's to Eternity"
